Three United States Air Force B-2 Spirit Stealth Bombers have made a surprise appearance in Australia. The B-2s haven't visited Australia for two years. The arrival of the B-2 Spirits was of course known by government and the military in advance and are here to conduct undisclosed training missions with Royal Australian Air Force personnel. The duration of the visit was not released. The arrival of the B-2 Stealth bombers comes at a time of rising tensions in the Indo - Pacific Region with China raising territorial disputes which involve conflicting island and maritime claims in the South China Sea made by Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, the People's Republic of China (PRC), Taiwan (Republic of China/ROC), and Vietnam.
