🍴 INDIAN GATE ORIGINAL STREET FOOD RESTAURANT: https://indianfoodnow.com/ 🧳 DAD: / tomyhh 🎥 WATCH: American Tries Indian Street Food in Chandni Chowk: • American Tries INDIAN STREET FOOD in ... In this episode from my Miami Street Food series, my dad and I enjoy Indian street food at a food truck in Miami! Join us as we try dishes like a chicken tikka roll and shrimp dum biryani in Coconut Grove! I was so stoked because my father and I stumbled upon the Indian Gate Original Street Food Restaurant food truck. It’s amazing! They sell some of my favorite Indian street food dishes like pani puri, samosas, biryani, dosas, butter chicken, and much more. It’s named after the Indian Gate in Delhi! Inside the kitchen, I met Alam, who is from the state of Bihar! Inside, they were making noodles, chicken tikka rolls, and more! Some of the dishes, like the noodles, are Indo-Chinese dishes from Kolkata, the birthplace of Indo-Chinese cuisine! I watched Alam make a chicken tikka roll, shrimp biryani, and an amazing chicken dish! They all smelled so good. I couldn’t wait to dive in! Outside, under the tent they had set up, we went for the shrimp dum biryani first. It looked incredible and had onions and cucumbers on top. It was outstanding! I loved the mint and saffron flavors, and the 9-10 shrimp were huge and meaty! It was like a mix of southern, northern, and northeastern Indian flavors. I loved the masala. It’s one of the best biryanis I’ve had outside of India! Next, I tried some spicy raita. It was crunchy and contained carrots, onions, tomatoes, and peppers. I loved the creaminess of it! It was so unique and packed with flavor! Then, we dove into a spicy and creamy chicken dish with jalapenos. It was incredible! I loved the vegetables in it, and the jalapenos gave it a nice kick of heat! I would have loved some naan with it! Next was the chicken tikka roll, which was incredible. I loved the onions and carrots in it. The paratha, chicken tikka, and vegetables were outstanding. It’s real Indian street food in Miami! Then, I headed back into the kitchen to watch them make some chicken noodles, which is an Indo-Chinese dish. They also fried some homemade samosas for a samosa chaat, chopped them, and topped them with a homemade channa masala. The samosa chaat came with mint chutney and tamarind chutney on it. It was unbelievable! It was like homemade Indian food, and an explosion of flavors in my mouth. It wasn’t spicy at all, as the jalapenos only gave it a tiny kick. Then, we jumped on the noodles, which were bright red and had some real spice to them! It also had a real Chinese flavor to it. The green pepper, onion, and carrot gave it a nice crunchiness, and the chili garlic sauce was so hot! Spice-wise, it was a 7 or 8 out of 10! Then, we had some mango lassi, which is a creamy yogurt drink that tempers the heat in your mouth. Then, for dessert, we had a rice pudding with grapes on top! It tasted similar to rasgulla! It didn’t have big chunks of grainy rice in it and was much smoother. It was the best rice pudding in Miami! Then, I watched them make some butter chicken and garlic naan, which I took home to my wife. That was one of the best Indian meals I’ve had outside of India! For me, the shrimp biryani was my favorite, but I loved it all! Where have you been?
