Everything in it can be done with the free version of MTC, except for the speed curve. (The free version has a regular metronome). Using the speed curve in your training can be extremely effective to develop speed and precision and to master difficult passages. For example, you can select a difficult phrase, play it in a loop, and adjust the speed curve so that it starts at a comfortable, easy speed, and gradually increase until a bit beyond your current ability. From time to time, as you go on practicing and your skills improve, you can adjust the speed curve so that it always cover the most important range: from a speed a bit below your current skill to a speed slightly above your current skill. By practicing always near the outer range of your ability, and by using the speed curve to gently push that edge higher, that's how you achieve the maximum possible benefit from the time you spend practicing. I just cannot recommend this method enough.
