SHE LEADS 'Eiko 'Ahokava from Tonga

Welcome to the seventeenth of the 44 SHE LEADS video profiles for 2024. 'Eiko ‘Ahokava is the founder and owner of Eiko-San Clothing, a Tongan fashion brand launched in 2019. Starting as a self-taught designer, 'Eiko transitioned from running a cake business to creating modern clothing featuring traditional Tongan Kupesi motifs. Despite early challenges, she successfully opened her store and gained recognition through her participation in the Utah Fashion Show. Now expanding with an online store, 'Eiko encourages women to pursue their dreams with passion, showing that success can come from determination and creativity, even without formal training. 'Eiko was interviewed as part of the SHE LEADS project by Pacific Trade Invest NZ, where innovative women in all areas of business throughout the Blue Pacific are invited to tell their inspirational stories on camera. Forty-four individual video interviews have been made in 2024, in Cook Islands New Caledonia, Samoa and Tonga. The videos will be rolled out weekly, online and world-wide via various social media platforms.
