What’s up everybody. In todays video, I will be installing oil “catch cans” on both of my diesel trucks. My wife’s truck is a 2018 Cummins (Non-Deleted) and my truck is a 2016 Cummins (Deleted & Tuned). The purpose of a catch can is to prolong the life of your turbo, because by factory, the combusted gas coming off the top of the crank case is routed back down to the turbo and unfortunately, this combusted gas coming off the crank case contains dirty oil and sludge. A “catch can” will capture this oil and sludge, allowing fresh air to be routed to your turbo or you can route the air to the atmosphere using the included breather/filter. This is a very inexpensive upgrade that can save your turbo from prolonged abuse. Evil Energy Catch Can https://amzn.to/3Sq7H1C 10/6/22 Update: I did get a check engine light on my wife’s truck after a few days. I assume the computer does not like the bottom hose plugged. I plugged in a OBD2 port scanner and cleared the codes and had no issues after. If it ever does come back on I can always add a hose from the “out” port back down to the hose below, remove the plug, and connect the hoses with a sleeve and 2 small clamps. 10/21/22 Update: The check engine light came on again. I added the hose from the “out” port of the catch can back down to the bottom hose that I originally plugged, reset the codes, and have had no issues since.
