First of all I want to tell you that I have been listening to JBL PartyBox 1000 for about 1 year and the LG Xboom RN9 for about 2 month. I use them for listening to music via Bluetooth or even when I watch TV. I will not go into technical details, but I will tell you directly the pluses and minuses. First of all the minuses - these systems do not have an HDMI port, which makes connecting to other devices more difficult and they don’t have internal batteries – That is a BIG Minus . Both JBL and LG speakers are suitable for outdoor spaces but can also be used in small rooms. The “total output power” of both are extraordinary – The JBL PartyBox 1000 has 1100 Watts with a 12 inch subwoofer and the LG Xboom RN9 has 1700Watts with a Dual 8" Woofers and Dual 1" Tweeters so the deep bass and the low frequencies should make the walls and objects in the house tremble – but lets see if this is the case. As you can see from this clip, the power of the JBL speaker is much higher than this system from LG, although their size is similar. The LG manufacturer does not provide the RMS power of the speaker, but looking on the web profile sites, it is marketed as having between 1700 afousensevenhundred watts and 2000 watts. It’s a common must have among speakers to have huge sound and big Bass. Well, both are literally huge with over 1 meter in length but in terms of power JBL wins. I also prefer the JBL PartyBox 1000 audio quality because the sound is more crisper and the mid and the highs are good compared with almost the lack of them on the LG speaker. Both have interactive light sets but the JBL is on another level as you can see and stands out more at a party! The JBL Partybox 1000 is very easy to move around the house due to the mounted wheels compared with the 2 side handles on the LG RN9. Both connect to a smart device immediately and very easily due to the integrated Bluetooth. Regarding the inputs, I can tell you that both lacks HDMI, LG has an optical input, Radio, and Guitar in , while the JBL Partybox 1000 has a guitar in input extra. The design and materials in my opinion on the JBL are premium and can be mounted on horizontal or vertical but the LG RN9 has a more aggressive look and looks more catchy with these huge holes. Both have a control panel mounted above the speaker, but compared to the modern design from JBL, the speaker from LG seems to come with an outdated and apparently cheap design. Both have a dj pad on the control panel but compared with the 3 buttond dedicated for DJ sounds the JBL has a multitude of functions and sounds. In my opinion, JBL PartyBox 1000 is far superior in BASS, medium and high, modern design, maneuverability than the LG Xboom RN9. Regarding the price - the JBL PartyBox 1000 costs about $900 and is worth all the money, while the speaker from LG costs about $350 and at this price I would think twice before I buying it - if I could not buy JBL Partybox 1000 I would go for a JBL Partybox 710 or even a Samsung MX - T70 Sound Tower. What speaker do I prefer between this two? Obviously, I will go with the JBL PartyBox 1000 much more because of the better sound quality, the much louder audio output, premium look, light show and the dedicated dj-pad at the top.
