For the purpose of this series we have toggled on Cryogenic Winter's "Normal" Mode, as well as the Permanent Snow option that it comes with. In this series, our settings are as follows: Start by choosing "Apocalypse" as the Custom Difficulty preset. In the World tab, change Water and Electricity Shutoff settings to 2-6 months. Also change the Darkness During Night setting to Pitch Black. In the Sadistic AI Director tab, change the Helicopter setting to Sometimes. In the Loot Rarity tab, set every single setting to Extremely Rare. In the Zombie Lore tab, change Infection Mortality to 0-1 Minutes, and also change Cognition to Navigate + Use Doors. In the Advanced Zombie Options tab, change the Population Multiplier setting to 2, then change Population Peak Multiplier to 1. Lastly, set Respawn Hours, Respawn Unseen Hours, as well as the Respawn Multiplier setting to zero.
