You took the audit exam, you thought you did good, you will at least score 50. But then on result day, you find that actually, audit is that one subject where you scored the least, barely touching 40. Some are lucky enough to clear it but most of the students flunked the exam and thus the whole group. Audit is considered one of the toughest subject and is often held responsible for multiple attempts in CA Inter. What is the actual reality? How not to get trapped in audit’s loop? Here are some insider tips and tricks that will definitely help you if applied religiously- DIVIDE IN POINTERS- break down the whole sentence or provision in points so that it becomes easy for you to understand. UNDERLINE THE KEYWORDS- when you underline the keywords in the divided sentence as mentioned above, you will get to know exactly what part is important and non negotiable in the exam. MAKE STORIES, MNEMONICS, SHORT FORMS, MEMORY TECHNIQUES- when you have to memorize a list of things, go for this technique. Try to create something funny or relatable, something which you can recall easily in the exam. But also be careful so as to not overuse this technique because then, it might have the opposite effect than what was intended in the beginning. Also, keep in mind that it’s a time consuming process so better start early. PRACTICE Q/A RIGOROUSLY DURING REVISION- most of the students commit this mistake of practicing the questions in the last revision, that too just verbally and think ho gya. Well, this is a completely wrong approach. What you should be doing is practice the questions in the first revision itself (writing practice!). For that, first you have to read the ques, then think about the possible ans according to you and then writing it down, thereafter, you have to compare and analyze with the actual correct ans and see where you went wrong. This is a time consuming process, yes, but one that will give you great returns in the exam! DON’T GET DEMOTIVATED - Audit is a tricky subject for everyone, you are not alone! Cut yourself some slack when you find that you are not able to retain everything in one go or arent able to solve the ques correctly. Just keep trying, keep pushing! Don’t keep high expectations from day one with your weak subject. Rome was not built in a day! REPETITION IS THE KEY- once you are done with audit revision and begin to make plans for the next subject, don’t forget about your new yet weak friendship with audit. Make a routine to study audit almost everyday for at least half an hour. This way, you will get more and more familiar with the subject and familiarity creates ease which will ultimately help you a lot!
