Great live show by Blu DeTiger on bass, her bro Rex DeTiger on drums and Donnie Laudicina shredding on guitar (I especially LOVED his Latency licks!!!!). Somehow the algorithm found Blu and what is not to luv? First, I digged the Figure It Out Live in NYC video recorded at home way back. Then I saw her on SNL playing with The Bleaches - super energy and talent live! So ... of course I got tix to the Toronto show. Blu's new album All I Ever Want is Everything is SO catchy catchy catchy !!! Forbes says "DeTiger defines her musical style as residing in the "groovy Indie space," where she skillfully blends elements of Pop, Rock, and Funk mixes." - yes, please (the article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/brittany...) Blu and her band played at The Velvet Underground on Toronto's Queen Street West. This video is the intro and first song. What can you say about seeing a cool band in a small club with great fan interaction? Me and my bud JW saw this Blu show and loved it, including her stepping out into the crowd with no 'silly' crowd barriers in the way. BTW we both saw Emily Haines of Metric play the basement of the Gladstone years before, just down the road from here, for her Soft Skeleton solo project and NOTHING * ABSOLUTELY NOTHING * compares to experiencing music in a small venue like this. Blu's show felt the same way - that we were seeing something VERY SPECIAL in the making. Radiant ear candy. Don't miss their show if its in your town .. or within driving distance :)
