A smaller city than Buenos Aires, Salta is picturesque with it's architecture, and is known for it's empanadas and beer. There's even a beer simply called Salta! The locals in Salta are friendly and didn't mind that we can't speak Spanish. We explored the city and booked a two day tour around Jujuy- going around Purmamarca and Humahuaca. Some highlights include the Salinas Grande salt flat, and the colourful markets with local artisanos in Purmamarca. We traveled up to 4000+ meters above sea level and took in the beautiful desert view. Argentina is a big country with lots to offer, and Salta is an absolute must!
