Long-Term Storage KEEP THEM ALIVE How I Bag LIVING Worm Castings

If you have an abundance of worm castings and need long-term storage consider using a sandbag. The bag is breathable and mild and mildew resistant. It also holds in some moisture. Store your castings in a dark, dry place and, cover the bag with a carpet or similar. They will store indefinitely. Especially if you add a bit of leaf litter to the bag and occasionally check the moisture levels. I'm still tweaking my bagging method. Sometimes, when I'm slammed, I wish that I could dump them all into some sort of sifter. But, in the end, I'm happy that my methods are gentle. And. so are the worms. Cheers to you if you are already creating soil or, if you decide to give it a go. It feels so good and, your yield will skyrocket. Small-scale worm farming has been both challenging and satisfying. There is definitely a learning curve but, once you get a flow going it's a matter of repetition. Practice makes perfect-ish.
