Some of you may not know but Honda owns Acura and they make their vehicles easy to repair. We definitely love straightforward repairs on all the jobs we do. We paint brand new car parts and ship them to you, anywhere in the 48 states. Our customer walked in what the driver-side portion of their bumper broken. I believe they may have hit a pothole or ran something over. Regardless of how the damage happened, it's usually better to pay for small damage out of pocket. Why? Because, this way the damage does not get reported on your car, which will cause your insurance premium to go up for years, and decrease the value of your car. So let's begin! TOOLS NEEDED: You will need a 10mm wrench, socket wrench, or impact gun for all the bolts. You will also need a panel clip removal tool. If you do not have one, that is okay. You can substitute a flat-head screwdriver instead. Lastly, you will need a Philips screwdriver for the screws on the bumper ends. PROCESS: This is a simple process to do, trust us! We started by removing the lower bumper bolts and clips. There are about 8 bolts across the whole bottom bumper alongside 8 clips. Our customer lower engine cover was broken due to the accident but you should be able to see the bolts a lot easier. All the bolts should be a size 10mm and if you have an impact gun, you'll make quick work of them. The clips can be removed with the panel clip removal tool by popping the center tab out. You can also use a flat head screwdriver, just work the center out and pull the clip out. Once you've worked your way through the bottom, you can then move to the bumper ends or sides. Separate the fender liner from the bumper and remove the Phillips screw that secures the bumper to the fender. There really isn't a whole lot to do here, so now you can move to the top of the bumper. You are gonna have to remove the radiator cover to expose the bolts for the top bumper. The cover is held on by plastic clips similar or exactly the same as the lower bumper. There are 2 clips in the center that are a bit different. With these, just push in the center and pop the clip off. Now, the bolts should be exposed and simply remove. The bumper is now ready to be dismounted. Start from the ends and pull out. Every bumper will clip onto the fender and under the headlights. Make sure you don't forcefully remove the bumper. There is a pre-collision system or sensors on the front bumper and you do not want to break anything on the harness. The bumper is now removed and you did it! #ilx #acurailx #acura #revemoto #frontbumper #diy #paintedbumpers #ilxbumperreplacement #paintedpartsonline DISCLAIMER: While ReveMoto tries to make the information in this video as accurate as possible, we make no claims, promises, or guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or applicability of the content.
