tarting off our brand new Monday Night series with a special thanks to the amazing Jeppeson2001 Statue of Zeus: The Statue of Zeus at Olympia was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, created by the master sculptor Phidias around 435 BC. It was a 12-meter-tall seated figure of Zeus, the king of the gods, made from a wooden frame and covered in ivory and gold. Zeus was depicted sitting on an elaborate throne adorned with precious metals and stones, holding a scepter in one hand and a statue of Nike, the goddess of victory, in the other. The series begins at Athens International Airport LGAV. We fly out over the city heading west until we reach the Gulf of Corinth and touchdown at Araxos Airport LGRX. From here we take on a little fuel and make our way to the birthplace of the Olympic Games. We overfly the Statue of Zeus Coordinates: 37°38′16″N 21°37′49″E before making our way to the isolated island of Kythira, believed to be the birthplace of Aphrodite.
