For two thousand years, San Antonio was a small fishing village, but it began to grow in the late 1950s when many hotels and tourist resorts were built as part of a mass tourism initiative which took place across Spain. Now it is a top holiday destination, surrounded by famous bars, restaurants and night clubs. Situated on the north coast of Ibiza, Isla sa Ferradura is a 35,000m2 private island connected to the mainland by a small, hidden two-sided beach - Cala de sa Ferradura. It is a small and mostly rocky beach with a small part of sand. The area is about 20 metres long although the part with sand is no more than 3 metres long.
