How to install a radio in a Chevy Colorado

In this collection of pictures and videos, we look at the process of installing a new stereo in a 1st generation Chevy Colorado including removal of the old one, accessing the SiriusXM satellite receiver (above the glove box), wiring connections for the new hardware, and antenna wiring. One important thing I learned was that the antenna marked "GPS" on the new radio needs to be hooked up for your wireless Android Auto or Apple Carplay to work. So it's kind of a misnomer, it's not really just for GPS. One other item I struggled with was finding an adapter for the satellite radio antenna. Crutchfield was unable to help with this and I didn't feel like removing my headliner and running a new antenna to the roof so I purchased 10 different adapters from Amazon and eventually found one with the right connectors.
