November 2002, Guernsey tests it's nuclear attack warning sirens. This one is at the nuclear command bunker in the Oberlands. 3 floors deep underground and walls 6ft thick, this is where Guernsey would be controlled from in an emergency. The States members have their own bunker a few hundred yards away and linked by tunnel.the Bailiff would also be there. Once the attack warning was sounded, the bunkers would be locked down for up to 3 weeks, having their own water food and generators. They also have a BBC studio from where they would broadcast the usual States claptrap to those of us sheltering in our own homes in the fall out shelters made up from instructions in "Protect and Survive". In the studio there is a sealed box ' "Only to be opened in an emergency, public warning tapes"
