My first live shiny Carnivine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vq_9QJ... [Willow's Shiny] A few weeks back, I lost my first shiny in the Safari Zone, a beautiful golden Carnivine. After many tireless encounters in the Great Marsh in my Pearl, this hunt soon became my second longest ever. I was doubling in Viridian Forest on the side with the Level 5 repel trick when a second Carnivine finally appeared on my Pearl Version. But do I catch it this time, or will it be yet another failure...? HOW TO HUNT CARNIVINE (OR ANY DAILY CHANGING POKEMON) IN THE DIAMOND/PEARL GREAT MARSH! Step 1) Play through either your Diamond or your Pearl far enough to reach Pastoria city. There is no Repel Trick in Platinum. Step 2) Buy 100 Super/Max Repels Step 3) Catch/Train a Pokemon with either Runaway or a Smoke Ball to Level 22 Step 4) Faint an Illuminator at the head of your party Step 5) Make sure Carnivine is appearing in the Marsh at Level 22 (if it isn't, set your clock to 23:59 and wait in-game until the day changes. Repeat until Carnivine's appear). Step 6) Save at the entrance to the Great Marsh Step 7) Enter, go to your proper Zone, spray a Repel and you're ready to hunt. When your time expires, go back in. When you run out of Repels, soft-reset to use them again. NOTE: Don't let the day change, otherwise you'll risk losing your Carnivine's in the Marsh.
