Revolution in King's Indian Defence: Chess Dynamics. Aloni vs Bronstein

The King's Indian Defence used to be regarded as a suspect opening, as the positions arising from it were evaluated based on the conventional positional principles, which didn't consider the very important aspect of chess, namely, its dynamics. However, in 1940's, thanks to the theoretical and practical work of the Ukrainian players, such as Konstantinopolsky, Boleslavsky, Bronstein and Geller, King's Indian Defence transformed from being a losing opening into a winning one. These players challenged the traditional view of the King's Indian Defence, introducing its dynamic aspect, and the following masterpiece, in which David Bronstein sacrifices three pawns illustrates this key aspect at its best. 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3.
