In this video, we explore the dramatic rise of right-wing movements across the West, particularly in response to growing concerns over Islam. This includes the rise of figures and organizations like Geert Wilders, Georgia Meloni, Marine Le Pen, Jordan Bardella, the AfD, Nigel Farage and more. Islam has a long and turbulent history in Europe, beginning with the Umayyad Caliphate's expansion into the Iberian Peninsula in the 8th century and continuing through the fall of Constantinople to the Ottoman Turks in 1453. These events have left a deep imprint on the European collective memory, often resurfacing in contemporary political discourse. Today, the Muslim population in many Western countries has grown significantly due to higher fertility rates and continued migration. For example, the Muslim population in Europe was about 25.8 million in 2016 and is projected to rise to 7.4% of the continent's total population by 2050, even if all Muslim immigration were to stop. In countries like France and the United Kingdom, Muslims currently make up around 8.8% and 6.3% of the population, respectively, with these numbers expected to rise to about 17% by 2050 under a medium migration scenario. Germany could see its Muslim population increase to between 10.8% and 19.7% by 2050, depending on future migration policies and refugee flows.This demographic shift has highlighted the cultural and value-based clashes between Western societies and Muslim communities. Islam, being fundamentally political, drives major decisions in every facet of life in Muslim communities. This often causes severe clashes with Western values such as gender equality, freedom of speech, and secularism. The rise of right-wing movements can be seen as a response to these clashes, with incidents like the Charlie Hebdo attacks, the July 7 bombings, and various blasphemy-related incidents serving as catalysts. The West could no longer hide behind the facade of multicultural harmony, as these incidents brought to light the severe cultural and value-based clashes. This is often a clash brought to light by authors like Douglas Murray, Christopher Hitchens and Ayaan Hirsi Ali.The rise of right-wing movements has been seen in elections across the West, with figures like Geert Wilders in the Netherlands, Giorgia Meloni in Italy, the AfD in Germany, Marine Le Pen in France, and the Reform Party in the UK gaining substantial support. This trend is also noticeable among young voters, who are increasingly supporting right-wing ideologies due to the perceived failures of multicultural policies and the impact of ideological and cultural differences.To address these challenges, I propose several solutions. Conditional citizenship and residency should be implemented, requiring immigrants to attend mandatory courses on the history, culture, and values of the host country and sign a declaration affirming their commitment to these values. Promoting cultural Christianity, as advocated by Ayaan Hirsi Ali and others, can also provide a counterbalance to Islam by encouraging the appreciation and practice of Christian cultural traditions. Banning sectarian politics and strengthening civic engagement and interfaith dialogue are other crucial steps to bridge the cultural divide and foster mutual respect and understanding.Ultimately, Islam in its purest form is at odds with Western values, creating a clash of cultures that has been seen before in European history.
