TOP 10 INDIAN WILD ANIMALS

#top10indiananimal# #wildanimal# #animals# TOP 10 INDIAN WILD ANIMALS HISTORY 1) BENGAL TIGER That´s right! The Bengal Tiger is considered since 1973 the Indian national animal, the main goal was to protect it from extinction. About 70% of Bengal Tigers are found in India, but you will also be able to find it in Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh, the last one also declared it as the national animal of the country. Asian Elephant Another one of the iconic Indian animals is in danger. Even though the number of Asian Elephant is now a days of more than 30000 ( it´s a lot comparing it with the tiger), their population have fallen by at least 50% over the last three generations, it is believed that more than 100000 Asian elephants may have existed at the start of the 20th century. 3) INDIAN RHINOCEROS Not all the news about the endangered animals in India are bad. Even though the rhino population is still low, they are still considered as vulnerable and the loss of habitat is an important threat, the number of one-horned has gone from just 200 in the wild early in the 20th century, to about 2600 now a days. If you have always dreamed of seeing one Indian rhino in the wild, we totally recommend you joining a safari at the Kaziranga National Park. It is the place with the highest Indian rhino density in the world. 4) ASIATIC LION The Asiatic Lion is probably one of the most famous animals in India after the Bengal Tiger. The Asiatic lion is the only kind of lion you will see outside of Africa and India is the only place where you will find. Inside the country the things are n´t going well neither, as there are only 400 to 500 of them in the wild and their only habitat is the Gir National park in Gujarat. Therefore, if you are planning to see the Asiatic lion, Gujarat will be your only option! 5) INDIAN LEOPARD India is home to 15 different species of the cat family, so of course we had to finish our Indian animals list with a big feline. It is turn for the Indian Leopard and the Black Panther. In despite of what most people think, these two animals are the same species, Panthera pardus, the only difference is that, the black panther as you may know is fully black, and the Indian Leopard has a yellowish body with dark brown/ black colored spots. This animal is also in the list of endangered species, but like the sloth bear, is classified as vulnerable. 6)SLOTH BEAR How many of you have seen the famous Disney movie, The Jungle Book? Well it appears the movie was mostly based in the Indian wildlife and one of the main characters, Baloo, is a sloth bear! As it happens in the movie, the main food of this curious beards are insects, fruits, flowers and of course honey, which is the reason why they are also called honey beards. Sloth beards are classified as vulnerable in the list of endangered animals. Their situation could be worst, but if we keep on destroying their habitat, they will end up like the animals listed before. 7)GHUDKHUR INDIAN WILD ASS The Indian wild ass, also called the Ghudkhur, Khur or Indian onager in the local Gujarati language, is a subspecies of the onager native to Southern Asia. It is currently listed as Near Threatened by IUCN. The previous census in 2009 estimated a population of 4,038 Indian wild asses. 8)WILD WATER BUFFALO The wild water buffalo, also called Asian buffalo, Asiatic buffalo and wild Asian buffalo, is a large bovine native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. It has been listed as Endangered in the IUCN Red List since 1986, as the remaining population totals less than 4,000. 9)NILGAI BLUE BULL For the Belgian Blue Bull, see Belgian Blue. For the South African rugby union team, see Blue Bulls. Nilgai. Nilgai (Boselaphus tragocamelus) 10)GAUR INDIAN BISON The gaur, also known as the Indian bison, is a bovine native to South and Southeast Asia, and has been listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List since 1986. The global population was estimated at a maximum of 21,000 mature individuals in 2016. THE CREATION OF NATURE    • இயற்கையின் படைப்பு "THE CREATION OF N...
