Hi there and welcome to part 3 of my Build Guide for the Tamiya Lunchbox. Here we cover the painting and detailing of that iconic Tamiya body shell. I decided not to go with the box art colours, gut chose the Tamiya TS 20 Acrylic Metallic Green. I'm really pleased with the colour, which is more than can be said for the clear acrylic lacquer that I decided to seal the paint and stickers with. Hmmm... Anyway, it looks OK and will definitely be used as a runner, no point crying over spilt milk! I finished off the body with a blanking plate for the cabin and a couple of 5mm LEDs for the headlights. Definitely a nice body shell to work on! I have tried to include a few helpful tips along the way, and the Lunchbox has a few little recommended hop-ups included in the build. About the Lunch Box: Another one of Tamiya's classic creations, the R/C Lunch Box (First released in 1987) was loved for its original appearance as much as for its R/C performance. The boxy minivan body has been raised up over monster truck wheels to ensure that this R/C van will grab the attention wherever you choose to drive it. Use the sides of the van as a canvas to paint your own original designs for the ultimate conversation piece! 2WD Chassis Mounted on Big 115mm Diameter Tires The durable and easy-to-assemble 2WD chassis employs a box type frame, and features front independent swingarms and a rear rolling rigid suspension. Big 115mm diameter tires offer dynamic running on even the toughest of surfaces. Sealed gearbox protects the diff gear from dirt and sand during off-road driving. Rear mounted wheelie bar enables wild stunt driving.
