Losing a beloved pet is always sad. Sometimes it can be hard to want to open yourself up to that kind of heartbreak after such a loss, but the joy our pets have brought to our lives certainly outweighs the pain, so here we are. We lost Rory in March (2018). We went to Animal friends about a month later to adopt another kitty. But we don't adopt normal cats. We always get cats with Feline Immunol-deficiency Virus (FIV). Like the name implies, these are cats with a disease that impairs their immune systems. Many people are afraid to adopt these cats and often times shelters don't have the means to keep them separate from the other cats, which means if they can't find homes the cats are euthanized. This video takes place in Animal Friends Pittsburgh Pa. I talk a little about caring for FIV cats and some of the misconceptions about FIV.
