Despite being in the midst of a global pandemic, my husband and I are doing okay financially. We have learned and put into practice quite a few approaches to money that I feel would be helpful to other couples / families who are trying to get out of debt and build a future. Today I am sharing our philosophy as a DINK (Dual Income No Kids) household and how we have tried to budget our expenses to live on one paycheck / income and bank the other. That does require sacrifice and being intentional with your spending, but has put us in a much better position to weather storms. With the economy in a tailspin, people being laid off or furloughed from their jobs, and many areas restricting business and personal activity - 2020 sure is a wild ride. I'm a former TV news producer, married for almost 12 years, my husband and I paid off $180,000 in student loans through budgeting, various forms of frugality, and buying / selling two homes together.
