Join me for a winter day hike while I attempt to scale Brown's Peak, easily the most spine-chilling hike I have ever been on. With over 1,900 feet of ice covered near vertical rock and crumbling scree, this is considered one of the most difficult (and dangerous) hikes in Arizona. Four Peaks is a prominent landmark on the eastern skyline of Phoenix. Part of the Mazatzal Mountains, it is located in the Four Peaks Wilderness in the Tonto National Forest, 40 miles east-northeast of Phoenix. The name Four Peaks is a reference to the four distinct peaks of a north–south ridge forming the massif's summit. The northernmost peak is named Brown's Peak and is the tallest of the four at 7,659 feet. It is the highest point in Maricopa County.
