Guide Gear 10ft x 12ft canvas wall tent & Four Dog Stove Company titanium woodstove gear review

Guide Gear 10ft x 12ft 10oz canvas wall tent and Four Dog Stove Company titanium woodstove gear review I recently brought out my canvas wall tent and one of my wood stoves to serve as a warming oasis for a campfire outing I recently hosted. I've owned both of these for several years now and have enjoyed using them on odd occasion in the colder months. Gear: Guide Gear 10x12 canvas tent from the Sportsman's Guide. Kit consists of 3 parts. 10 oz cotton canvas tent body with sod cloth. Currently retails on sale at $485.99 Thick 10-oz. canvas walls and roof Weather and mildew-resistant treated canvas is also fire retardant Reinforced corners and stress points for added strength 5" Stove jack opening 24" from wall 11.5" sod cloth prevents damp floors and wet sleeping bags 17" x 23" rear window with zipper and grip-strip closure 3.5" x 15" front and rear peak vents with awning increase air circulation 8'3" roof peak 5' side walls 7'2" door height Includes 12" plastic stakes and tie-down ropes with tension adjustments Weighs 53.3 lbs. https://www.sportsmansguide.com/produ... Aluminum pole set Currently retails on sale at $315. Weight 38 lbs. https://www.sportsmansguide.com/produ... (not shown) PVC vinyl floor kit Currently retails on sale at $144. Weight 19 lbs. https://www.sportsmansguide.com/produ... I bought mine during a discount sale with an additional coupon code. It's a good starter wall tent kit. There are some nicer tents out there by Montana Canvas, Snowtrekker, and others, but this one comes in at an affordable price by comparison. Four Dog Stove Company titanium wood stove. Ultralight 2. https://fourdog.com/titanium-ul-stoves/ The UL2 retails for $970. Weight 12 lbs. Comes in options for 4, 6, or 8 piece 20" stovepipe lengths. Optional side shelf available in two sizes. Optional pipe collar (heat shield) available. Pipe starts at 4" diameter and tapers down to 3" diameter and back out to 4" diameter, depending on the number of sections of pipe you order. This will dictate if you need a 3" or 4" spark arrestor. If you have any questions, Four Dog's owner, Don Kevelis will gladly assist you. His stoves are all hand made in his shop, and he makes them in batches, so they may be unavailable at times on his website, but still reach out to him to inquire when he's making another batch of them. It's a small family company, and he pays attention to building them right. There is also a DX1 model of stove on the site, which weighs 10 lbs and is a little shorter in length than the UL2 stove. I personally like the longer stove to fit a greater variety of wood lengths into the stove...less cutting. There are heavier stoves out there that hold the heat longer like the Colorado Stove Company steel cylinder stove, or its knockoff clone from CampChef (you can find the CampChef ones for a bargain at Cabelas sometimes). But, expect those to weight 70 lbs. There are also ultralight titanium stoves that kit together like a puzzle, or even the newer fastfold models from various companies out there like Seek Outside, Polmoly, or Winnerwell. As a cheaper alternative, there's also the tried and true galvanized steel KniCo wood stoves. (note...any galvanized or painted stoves MUST be burned hot to oxidize any paint or galvanized zinc coatings or you WILL get sick if you breathe in the fumes. Once steel stoves are sufficiently burned off a couple of times, they are safe to use in a tent or indoors. Titanium stoves don't have this issue as they don't rust and will last a lifetime with good care.) Optional gear: Eco Fan heat powered air circulating fan for wood stoves: https://www.menards.com/main/heating-... There's several varieties of these fans, but they generally run between $60-120 at Menards or other hardware stores in the fireplace section. They create an electric current based on differences in temperatures between the base and the heatsink, which then powers the fan. They provide a little air circulation about 100cfm or so, which better distributes the heat around a heated shelter. Hope you enjoyed this video.
