Supportive and inclusive physical environments for Autistic students

The Department of Education Queensland funds research into priority education issues through the Education Horizon research grants scheme. Professor Dawn Adams and research team Dr Stephanie Malone, Dr Nicole Dargue, and Dr Kate Simpson were awarded an Education Horizon Grant (2022), co-sponsored by Griffith University. They met a gap in the research literature by identifying what aspects of the physical environment have been evidenced to impact upon learning and wellbeing in Autistic students. On 28 August 2024, the Department of Education Queensland hosted a research forum, organised by Research Services and the Autism Hub.
