This is a video I made breaking down my own personal warm-up packet that I have been using for several years as well as an explanation of how I practice using it. I put the packet together my Junior year of college when I needed something easier to carry around and keep me focused but never get bored. The video is shot in a live fashion and was meant for instagram but ended up being too long haha. There are a million ways to warm up and achieve technical facility on the cello... this is just what has worked for me. I usually do 30 minutes of warmups. 10 minutes scales and 10 minutes of alternating days of arpeggios and thirds (played with drone.) Then 5 minutes of Left Hand and 5 minutes of Right Hand. Contents include: *Sevcik Op 3 Theme Scales, Arpeggios & Thirds *2 Octave Major Scales (though I usually play 3 octave, they are just for reference.) *Feuillard Daily Exercises for Violoncello #10-12 Left Hand Warmups: *An Organized Method of String Playing - Four Finger Position *Exercises, Second Position A, Four and Three Finger Positions *Cello Playing is Easy by Tanya L. Carey - Excerpt from Spinning Song *Sevcik Opus 8 #47-56 (Thumb positions) Right Hand Warmups: *Cello Playing is Easy by Tanya L. Carey, Sevcik 40 Variations, Op 3, Kreutzer Bowing Study, Schroeder Exercise for Flexible Thumb and Fingers Sevcik Op 2 Part 1 No. 3 & 6
