As part of a short Lower North Island(New Zealand) tour legendary band HERBS went out on an acoustic only tour. With just 3 gigs this was their 2nd one of it, at the Sandbar in Mana just north of Porirua, Wellington. The only original member was guitarist singer Dilworth Karaka. However the other 2 members of this 3 piece lineup Maurice Watene (sax, vocals) and Tama Lundon (Guitar & Vocals) are also longtime members joining the band back in the early 80s for their then 2nd album 'Light Of The Pacific' This track 'French Letter' is an acoustic version of the song that was released on that . As a protest song against the French who had chosen to test their nuclear bombs in the South Pacific region at that time. Recently a film /documentary has just been released about the band and their history. Entitled 'Herbs - Songs Of Freedom' is currently showing at various cinemas around New Zealand .
