Me and my dad decided to go to Rochelle to see the Big Boy come through. Unfortunately, we found out that it was tied down in Global III and wasn't leaving until the next day at 8:45 a.m. I couldn't go because I was in school, which was very disappointing, but I still caught 11 trains: 8 on the UP and 3 on the BNSF. Highlights of the day included a westbound UP rail train and a race between two eastbound BNSF trains, one of which had a 25th Anniversary unit trailing. However, in addition to not seeing the Big Boy come through, I also missed a meet between two UP trains, one of which had 5 EMD's on it, as well as UP 1983 trailing on an eastbound UP coal train. As if that wasn't bad enough, the next day, when I couldn't be there, I missed UP 1988 leading an eastbound UP manifest local as well as UP 1158, an ex-SSW/Cotton Belt GP60, as a mid-DPU on a westbound UP manifest.
