The truck features bright trim with simulated woodgrain inserts. Additional exterior details include dual side mirrors, vent windows, "Ranger XLT" badging, chrome bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets. In 1970, the F100 saw both a new grille structure and the introduction of a now popular series, the XLT—specifically the Ranger XLT. The XLT featured color-keyed full carpeting, pleated cloth and vinyl seats, extra insulation, even more bright trim and a wood-tone tailgate panel. The cab features a bench seat trimmed in blue upholstery with patterned inserts, which is complimented by a matching dashboard, door panel inserts, and carpets.
