Who knew that a few chats online would end up with four birders from the United States joining us on a BIG BIRDING DAY OUT at the Western Treatment Plant near Melbourne! The weather was cold, overcast and windy.... but the birds did not mind at all. In fact, the list just kept on growing on this trip... * Whiskered Tern * Golden-headed Cisticola * Baillon's Crake * Australian Spotted Crake * Brolga * Black-tailed Godwit * Glossy Ibis * Black Swan * Great Egret * Royal Spoonbill * Brown Songlark * Striated Fieldwren * Pied Stilt * Red-necked Avocet * Common Greenshank * Australian Pied Oystercatcher * Black-tailed Native-hen * Great Crested Grebe * Black Kite * Red-kneed Dotterel Not bad for one day!! We were pretty impressed ourselves to see all these birds so it was fantastic to be able to share such great moments with our new friends from America!! I think we lucked out meeting Jim, Ellen, Kristin & Dave! They were the best guests we could possibly have asked for! We hope you enjoy watching this video as much as we enjoyed making it!
