After they got married Jay got into an accident and they lost their lease. They had to stay with his mom and sister since Op had a falling out with her mom. Her MIL treats her badly and always leaves her with terrible food. When she complains she tells op to move out. Op is working 70 hours a week and is the main breadwinner of the family, yet her MIL has no respect. After suffering from food poisoning OP moves back in with her mom and their relationship improves. She continues to face problems because of her mother-in-law, and this makes her husband try harder to look for a job. He finally finds one out of town and also finds out that his mom withheld his settlement from the accident. He forces his mom to give the money to op or she will go to jail. He works for several months before coming back. His mom starts harassing Op for an apology. When that fails, she tells op that if she has kids they will not survive. She puts op under so much stress that she miscarries. Her husband is furious and sends his mom to an old age home by force then sells her house.
