PRIZE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY | ANTI-RAGGING CELL| KCP | 2024

The Anti Ragging Cell of GSSDGS Khalsa College Patiala successfully concluded the Anti Ragging Week with a Prize Distribution Ceremony to honour the winners of various competitions held throughout the week. The event took place in Seminar Hall of Bhai Daya Singh Block of Commerce and Management, and was graced with the presence of Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of College, Dr. Jasleen Kaur, Deputy Principal, Dr. Gurmeet Singh, Vice Principal, Dr. Gursharan Singh Gill, Dean Sports, Prof. Jaspreet Kaur, Registrar and Controller Examinations and Dr. Manveer Kaur, Head Department of Fine Arts. The event witnessed a vibrant gathering of students, faculty members, and distinguished judges who evaluated the competitions. The ceremony began with a welcome address by Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha who emphasised upon the importance of maintaining a ragging-free campus and applauded the participants for their creative and thoughtful contributions. He stressed upon the need to develop holistic personalities of students and praised the students for participating in the Anti Ragging activities. Dr. Rouble Brar, Convenor of Anti Ragging Cell, shared with the audience that in the week long Anti Ragging Awareness Week competitions like essay writing, poster making, slogan writing, logo designing and reel making, were organised to spread awareness about the dangers of ragging and the need for mutual respect and unity among students. Prof. Jaspreet Kaur encouraged the students to keep participating in such competitions to hone their skills to perfection. She praised the high quality of submissions and the students’ commitment to Anti Ragging. She inspired them to take active participation in youth festivals as well. The winners of the competitions were announced: in slogan writing Harpreet Kaur of B.Sc. Agriculture-I was awarded the first position, Ishleen Kaur of B.A (Honours) English-III stood second and Lovepreet Singh of B.Sc. Agriculture (Honours)-I stood third. In poster making, Tanvir Kaur of B.A (Honours) Social Sciences-I was awarded the first position, Simranjeet Singh of B.A-I stood second and Tanu Goyal of B.A-II stood third. Three consolation prizes were also given to Jasnoor Kaur, Jagbir singh and Khushpreet kaur In logo designing Lovepreet Singh of B.Sc(Agriculture)-I was awarded the first position, Atisha of B.A- I stood second and Kiranpreet kaur of B.A- I stood third. In essay writing Daniel of B.A(Honours) Social Sciences-II was awarded the first position, Kiranpreet Kaur and Husanpreet Kaur of B.A-I shared second position and Muskan of B.A-III stood third. In reel making Diya Rani of B.A-III was awarded the first position, Arshdeep kaur of B.A(Honours) English-III stood second and Manpreet kaur of B.Sc(Biotech)-I stood third. The winners received certificates and awards as a token of recognition for their efforts. The stage was effectively handled by Dr. Satwinder Kaur. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rouble Brar. All members of Anti Ragging Cell were present. The event was a fitting end to a successful Anti Ragging Week, reinforcing the institution's dedication to fostering a safe and supportive campus environment.
