Clare Fischer & Terry Trotter - Pensativa (m - Fischer, alt. lyric - David Speed)

Newly revised alternate lyric (displayed below, along w/ CF's original) and video 4 Fischer's remarkable arrangement of his own oft-recorded bossa nova standard, from Terry Trotter's 1993 CD, "Its About Time." The track features spectacular solos from both Trotter on acoustic piano & the composer on electric. BTW, the movie-minded among u (at least those of a certain vintage) will easily pick out James Stewart in stills from "Vertigo" (w/ Kim Novak), "The Shop Around the Corner" (w/ Margaret Sullavan), & "It's a Wonderful Life" (w/ Donna Reed), as well as brief glimpses of Natalie Wood and Orson Welles, in "West Side Story" and "MacBeth," respectively. My lyric: Days spent in thinking Went unblinking to see the clue I wonder where this leads I wonder, will this thinking lead to you. So what am I missing Reminiscing or prophesy Thy kingdom for a clue I sing yet we remain a mystery. But we've been the best of strangers Yet stranger still is what is yet to be We'll begin to lie this love out, come what will Or is this my fantasy? Just the bliss of pensativity? And so? I imagine I imagine you here with me Just call me your sweet pest Just call me; any time at all is best. (Solos) And we've been the best of strangers Yet stranger still is what is yet to be We'll begin to live this love out, come what will Or is that my fantasy? Simply what I choose to sea? All right Then. So? I imagine I imagine you here with me Just call me your sweet pest Just call me; any time at all is best. My lyric:. Clare Fischer's lyric: As with each new dawn Sun is giving the breath of day, And warms the cold from night And hovers softly o'er the sea of day. And now with the twilight You sit pensive and lost it seems What lived so near last night Is now converted into empty dreams For day starts once more anew And lifts you from the clutching bonds of night And leads you once more in search of happiness Ever seeking on and on, searching endlessly for what is gone. Then night drops its curtain Making certain your loneliness And fills a longing cloud That leaves you in your lonely pensiveness.
