Here’s what you need to do: Place the tabletop item on the furniture. Enter editing mode. Hover over the tabletop item and Alt + left-click. This will group select and pick up both items as a group. Understanding what this does is important for future use. Normally, the furniture can only be placed on the floor. By grouping it with the tabletop item, the furniture now have the properties of a tabletop item, allowing you to place it on other furniture. Additionally, the furniture hitbox becomes as small as the tabletop item. This method allows you to place items much closer together than usual. Happy decorating!
