Initial reports indicated the attack, marked by gun fire and two explosions within the vicinity of the DusitD2 Nairobi. Carried out by five assailants who arrived in two vehicles. One of these attackers entered Secret Garden restaurant discreetly and detonated an explosive device. The remaining assailants forcibly compelled security personnel to open the gates of 14 Riverside Drive. In response to this grave threat, the Recce company, the specialized anti-terrorism division of the Kenya Police Force, specifically the General Service Unit, was swiftly deployed to confront the militant attack. Among the heroes who emerged during this harrowing ordeal, we must acknowledge a masked British SAS operator, Christian Craighead, who happened to be in the country for training purposes, and helped stop the attackers.
