Imperial Stout Aged in Bourbon/Rum Barrel. //Grain Bill 51.9% Golden Promise 13.0% 2-Row 7.8% Munich I 5.2% Chocolate Malt 3.2% Pale Chocolate 3.2% Golden Naked Oats 3.2% Flaked Oats 3.2% Turbinado Sugar 3.2% Maltodextrin 2.6% Victory Malt 1.9% Midnight Wheat 1.3% Caramel 120 Half pound of Shredded Coconut mixed in. [I wanted the base malt to be all Maris Otter, but didn't have any on hand. So a blend of GP and 2 Row it was.] 56.5 SRM in recipe, but with the long boil who knows. //Hops 43.4 IBUs of Columbus @ 60 minutes. //Water Profile 60 Calcium 7.6 Magnesium 50.6 Sodium 73.4 Sulfate 74.7 Chloride 133.6 Bicarbonate //Yeast US-05 fermented @ 66 F Mashed @ 154 for 60 minutes. Mash Out @ 168 for 10 minutes. Normally I don't sparge but this batch I did with 2 gallons to raise the pre-boil volume so I could boil longer. The boil ended up being 4 and 1/4 hours. 1.098 SG 1.025 FG 9.6% ABV Notes: I added water to the barrel to swell the barrel as well, so there weren't leaks. I failed to mention this in the video. Hopefully this is the last video without a Lav mic. If not, ill continue to mix in voice overs to make it somewhat tolerable. I know the audio sucks, working on it.
