Precipice Trail Acadia National Park Hike - "The Best" - August 2010

This video provides a true indication of what the Precipice Trail is. Young children and people who are not physically strong or afraid of heights should not attempt this "non technical" climb. Make sure you check with the rangers as this trail can be closed during Peregrine Falcon breeding season. My recommendation for the decent is the newly renovated Orange and Black Trail. After you reach the summit, continue straight and pick up the trail. It is fun and much safer than backing down rungs and ladders. UPDATE: I would like to send my heart-felt condolences to the family and friends of 22-year old Shirley Ladd who tragically lost her life on the Precipice in July 2012. RIP
