"Diet" Director: Marc Daniels. Writers: Arthur Stander, Frank Tarloff, Ben Starr. The episode opens with Joan and Brad coming home from a date celebrating their ninth wedding anniversary. When Brad has some difficulty carrying Joan over the threshold he suggests that she has gained some weight over the years. She weighs herself and discovers that she is now 123 pounds, 7 pounds more than her 116-pound "wedding weight." She has signed a contract to appear on television for charity, her ladies' club's "Children's Aid Fund". It stipulates that because she has used the product, a low calorie salad dressing, she has maintained her weight since her wedding. She has 3 days to lose it. The druggist sends her appetite stimulants instead of suppressants, but she finally manages to lose the weight with the help of her friends from the ladies' club. The day of the broadcast, after starving herself for 3 days prior, she succumbs to an irresistible impulse when she sees all the delicious food presented in the commercial.
