Many roses travel well over 4000 miles to make a brief appearance to our local grocery stores. Not all roses are treated equally either. A florists roses tend to be treated with more care ,carefully wrapped and slowly cooled. While a Grocers rose is cut earlier in bloom; before the petals are even unfurled, cooled more rapidly and packed tightly to save on cost. Don't get discouraged if your cutting fails to root.
