Krity Jha (Homemaker) : म तिमीलाई दुखि हेर्न सक्छु तर मरेको हेर्न सक्दिन: The Storyyellers

Kriti Jha is a homemaker and a former air hostess. During the 55th session of The Storyyellers, she shared about multiple turbulences that occurred in her life while rigorously chasing the childhood dream of becoming an air hostess. Kriti Jha belongs to the lands of fields and farmers, Janakpurdham, south-eastern part of Nepal. As a child, she was captivated by the sight of flying airplanes and always dreamed of becoming an air hostess. Anytime a teacher asked about her aspirations, Kriti’s answer was immediate: "I want to be an air hostess." While her academic performance was not that good, especially in mathematics she was rather inclined towards arts, music, dance and literature. Due to this, her mother used to get worried about her future. In an attempt to improve Kriti’s academic performance, her mother arranged for tuitions which helped Kriti score good marks in SLC. After completing her SLC, she moved to Kathmandu to pursue higher education. Transitioning from the calm and spiritual atmosphere of Janakpur- Ganga Aarti, to the chaotic life of Kathmandu was overwhelming. Yet, her dream remained strong. One day, she told her mother, "Mommy, I want to become an air hostess." Her mother already knew about her daughter’s aspirations but wasn’t ready to let her chase them. "What will you do for a living?" her mother asked. Kriti confidently replied, "I’ll earn money and fly in the sky." But her mother wasn’t convinced. She said becoming an air hostess would ruin the family’s reputation. Kriti, being the stubborn youngest daughter, refused to let go of her dream. After much persuasion, her mother finally agreed to let her follow her passion. Following her +2 education, Kriti had already researched the place to receive air hostess training which was the Frankfinn Institute in Delhi. With her mother by her side, she traveled to Delhi to begin the next chapter of her life. Everything seemed to be going well—until her relatives intervened. Relatives filled her mother’s ears with doubts and fears, urging her to have Kriti pursue a more ‘respectable’ profession, such as becoming a banker. Afterwards, Kriti was heartbroken when her mother brought her back to Kathmandu, shattering her dreams. She cried for days, holding onto the hope of becoming an air hostess, but nothing seemed to change. The dream that had been so close was slipping away. What happened next? To know how Kriti eventually became an air hostess. Watch the full video.
