Search for 'blue craft foam' on eBay or the web to find a supplier for the foam. See my other videos for more on hat making. Confession - after I finished the hat as shown here I thought it was a little too tall, so cut around 20 mm off the height of the block (try doing that in 5 minutes with a wooden hat block!) and then re-worked the hat body, shrinking the crown back down onto the block, so although the finished hat shown, and the hat block are the ones shown here, the hat body did get a further 20 minutes back on the shortened block. FAQ's - The liquid is soapy water - olive oil soap in this case, but use your favourite. Foam is called 'craft foam' search for 'blue craft foam' on the internet but it does come in other colours. The foam is rigid and will last with care. It does not absorb water and does not require any further treatment once sanded.
