Hello there! I have had this Vriesea platynema var. rosea sitting in a hidden corner for a while and I have been needing to re-pot and split this bromeliad for ages now. So, this episode shows you how to do this but also what to keep in mind whilst working with this bromeliad. It applies most Vrieseas. This genus is able to withstand relatively bright light where most people actually think that they are shade loving plants. That said it is important to remember that these kinds of bromeliads are accustomed to bright indirect light and in some positions can handle bursts of direct light provided the humidity is high enough (I’d day 70% - 95% [or thereabout]). I hope this is sufficient and helps you to successfully split and pot up your own bromeliads without too much trouble. Let me know if you have different methods for any parts of this process. Hope you enjoy this, and I’ll catch you on the flip side. Oh, and keep loving your garden and discover new plants while you have the ‘time’… Later Prelude No. 6 by Chris Zabriskie is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution licence (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...)
