By having an authentication you can monitor user activity in your network with their username and can have multiple filtering policies based on username and group. NxFilter provides several different kinds of authentication methods including password and IP based authentication. We demonstrate how to authenticate a user based on his/her IP address with NxFilter in this video. 1. We have NxFilter on 192.168.0.103. 2. Make your client system using NxFilter as its only DNS server. Client IP is 192.168.0.100. 3. We enabled authentication on NxFilter. 4. Try to browse the Internet. You get blocked with a login form. 5. Create a user account on NxFilter GUI and associate '192.168.0.100' to it. 6. Try to browse the Internet again. 7. Check your log-view on NxFilter GUI. It may take up to 1 minute to see the log as NxFilter writes its log once in a minute for performance reason.
