The internet is full of new Linux users getting recommended ZorinOS, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and even insane options like Debian. As a very busy person, you don't have the time or the energy to become an amateur computer scientist like Linux communities seem to expect of you - but you still have the responsibility to protect yourself, and protect your family members, from the shocking actions of the prominent tech companies of the world. In this video, we start with your operating system. I break down why I would recommend Linux Mint and Linux Ubuntu to people in your shoes - and why I strongly discourage the use of ZorinOS, for a normal person's desktop computer. If you're watching these videos as they come out (fingers crossed!) we should have you squared away - with everything you need to know to protect yourself - by Christmas. There won't be very much terminal, there won't be any TTY, I'm not going to try to teach you to write scripts and build your own operating system, I don't want to give you DWM and make you memorize 4 million key bindings: Just normal things, for normal people.
