This is a (poor) recreation of his fabled '89 custom that he picked up during the ...And Justice For All Tour and used for Fade to Black live. He had his guitar tech "black out" the guitar's hardware and plastics to give it its signature look. Most people associate this guitar with EMG pickups but Kirk and Gibson created the version of this guitar that HE wanted TODAY. You'll be disappointed if you wanted a one-for-one 1989 Custom reissue, but if you go into it with the right mind-set, I actually really liked this guitar.
