But it’s something that can’t be ignored. It’s very difficult to get clients and increase revenue without correctly utilizing social media for your business. So this video is going to be a beginner’s roadmap to using social media for business. The first step is getting to know what social media platforms you should learn. To give you an idea, these are the top 10 social media platforms. The goal right now should be to get an understanding of each one from a user perspective. That should help you figure out which one can be best for your business. Then, you should choose 1, 2, or 3 to focus on, depending on your resources and available time. If you are starting from scratch, I would tackle the biggest platforms. For organic growth and lead generation, you can try TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. For lead generation using ads, you should focus on Facebook/Instagram and YouTube. I create videos for businesses and they usually just think of creating content for the sake of creating content. But that’s the wrong approach. You should create content with a focus. Usually, entertaining or educating your potential followers should be the goal. This will help build a community around a specific topic. I’ll break this down into a very step-by-step process. Step 1: Find the platforms you want to use and focus on. Step 2: Learn everything you can about those platforms from a user perspective and from a business owner’s perspective. Step 3: figure out the type of people you want to follow on those platforms. Facebook has a great tool for finding audiences. Step 4: figure out what kind of content you can make for that specific type of person. I usually recommend educational content for business owners. This will build trust and authority with that group or it’s the fastest way to build a community. Step 5: begin creating content. Educate yourself about content creation or outsource this part entirely. You can work on creating organic content for long-term social media strategy or short-term content just as ads for quick lead generation and sales. Step 6: Create a content calendar. This will help you generate a timeline, ideas, and schedule for upcoming content, so you don’t worry about it all the time.
