Having used a box blade, I at least had the concept of grading down and how a land leveler should work. I've also watched many videos, had much feedback from folks, and they seem to be good sellers for my distributors. So, I had to try one out. Of course, I wasn't going to make it easy on myself. You might here it called a land plane and I'll probably call it either term as well. I don't think it matters. Regardless, if you want smoothed finished conditions, it's probably not best to use a land leveler in wet, muddy conditions. However, this particular area of the farm is always like that. That's the reason it's rutted up with pot holes in the first place. A long-term solution would be to bring in fill, base, and fines, but we lease this land, not own. I don't want to dump a bunch of money into it at this time. Regardless, the land leveler was very easy to use. You only drive forward which makes it easier and the lower height of the blades allow material to spill over and evenly distribute. It doesn't work as well when it's wet and clumpy like his this video, however after enough passes, even this wet material starts to spread out smoothly. Overall, I was really impressed with my first use, I hope the video does it justice as the final results are fantastic all things considered.
