This is a simple 10 step chicken health check. Perfect for when you are buying your chickens or just wanting to check on your hen's current health. The 10 steps include: 1. Eyes⁠ - the eyes should be clear and no have no signs of discharge 2. Nostrils ⁠- again these should be clear and have no signs of discharge 3. Ears⁠ - should be fluffy and have no signs of inflammation 4. Comb & Wattles⁠ - these should be dark red in colour. However, with a new point of lay chicken this wont be fully developed so don't worry about this 5. Feathers ⁠- shiny feathers that are laying nicely flat 6. Rear End⁠ - there should be no signs of droppings 7. Lice Check ⁠- when you part the feathers of the rear end, you should check for lice on the skin 8. Vent ⁠- a nice clean vent with no signs of discharge 9.
