Fieldrecordings, O-Ton seiner Familie und komponierte Versatzstücke. Ersatzteile eines Panzers, ein Spion und eine Reiseroute von Marokko nach Israel sind Bestandteile hinter der komponierten Musik. Wer erzählt und wer wird erzählt? Er vergräbt seine Harmonien unter straffen, digitalen Schürfungen. Von eindringlichen zeitgenössischen Ambient-Sphären bis hin zu Buchla Easel Synth-Arrangements, teuflischen Drum-Verzerrungen und kolossalen Sub-Sounds, die Musik schaut rückwärts, während sie nach vorne zeigt.  Artist statement: Janiv Oron works with various audio-visual media and often in collaboration with other artists and practitioners. Informed by an extensive background in music and as a DJ (Goldfinger Brothers) Oron describes his practice as a transformation of inspirations directly into “instruments” - inspirations range from subculture and counterculture to DIY electronics and paranormal technologies. The Modification and altering of found or pre-existing elements such as loudspeakers is a recurring aspect of his work. Used to play back a mix of pre-recorded and or live-feed audio, such custom speakers react to and animate the acoustics of a given space. They not only serve their functional purpose but also become sculptural objects in their own right. For Oron, sound is not just an auditory experience but also a visual one. He sees sound as a virtual visual tool that has the power to create vast imaginary spaces within the mind. Through this synesthetic understanding, sound becomes a catalyst for creating vivid mental imagery and opening up limitless possibilities for the imagination to wander and explore.    Artist bio: Janiv Oron (born 1975, IL/CH) is a media artist and DJ living and working in Basel.  He is a member of the Goldfinger Brothers, performer, composer of experimental electronic music and active in different formations. He has a master’s degree in Contemporary Arts Practice from Bern University of Arts. Recent exhibitions and performances have been at the Art Encounter Biennal Timisoara, Romania; Don Boscos Garden with the Kammerorchester Basel; at Contemporary Istanbul with Öktem Aykut Art Gallery; with the Sinfonietta Basel; at Nationale Opera & Ballet Amsterdam; at Tretyakov Art Gallery Moscow; at Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros Mexico; Teatro Arriaga Bilbao, Café Oto London and so on. In edition to his practice as a visual artist, he is known internationally as a DJ for battles, club nights, concerts, open-airs and parades, as well as on the radio. Whizz-kid in a word, he launched numerous successful party series and had his own show on Swiss Radio SRF to boot.
